Important Tax Information

Sales Tax Is Applied Where Required

Not every transaction is necessarily subject to the same sales tax. The applicable amount, if any, may depend on the customer's delivery destination, the products purchased, the nature of the transaction and applicable tax requirements.

01

General Sales Tax Policy

Prime Freight Containers will collect applicable sales tax on transactions where we are required to do so.

The existence and amount of any sales tax obligation may vary based on the facts of the individual order.

Customers should review the order summary, quotation, invoice or checkout information provided for their transaction before completing payment.

02

How Sales Tax May Be Determined

Where applicable, sales tax may be determined using information associated with the transaction, including:

01 Delivery Destination

The state, locality or jurisdiction to which the order is being delivered may affect applicable tax.

02 Product Type

The tax treatment of a product may depend on its classification and applicable requirements.

03 Order Value

Where tax applies, the taxable amount may depend on the items and charges included in the order.

04 Customer Status

Valid exemption documentation may affect certain qualifying transactions.

03

Sales Tax & Delivery Destination

Prime Freight Containers provides shipping and delivery to eligible locations throughout the United States.

Because sales tax requirements can differ between jurisdictions, the delivery destination may affect whether tax is applicable and the amount that must be collected.

Customers should provide an accurate delivery address so that applicable order and tax information can be determined correctly.

04

Tax Displayed on Your Order

Where sales tax is applicable and calculated through our ordering process, the amount should be identified separately or otherwise included in the applicable order total.

Before completing payment, customers should review:

  • Product price
  • Quantity
  • Shipping and delivery charges
  • Applicable sales tax, where required
  • Approved modifications or additional services
  • Total amount due

If you believe the tax information shown on an order is incorrect, please contact us before submitting payment.

05

Bank Transfer Payments & Sales Tax

Prime Freight Containers currently accepts Bank Transfer as its payment method.

Where sales tax applies, customers should transfer the complete order total, including the applicable tax amount shown on the relevant order confirmation, quotation or invoice.

Customers should not deduct an applicable tax amount from a bank transfer unless an authorized adjustment has been confirmed by Prime Freight Containers.

06

Shipping & Delivery Charges

Prime Freight Containers currently provides eligible standard nationwide delivery for a flat shipping rate of $450.

Whether shipping or delivery charges form part of the taxable transaction may depend on applicable tax requirements.

Where tax is required on a taxable shipping or delivery charge, the applicable amount will be treated as part of the transaction for tax purposes.

07

Tax-Exempt Purchases

Certain customers or transactions may qualify for exemption from sales tax when supported by valid documentation and where the applicable requirements are satisfied.

Examples may include qualifying resale, governmental or other legally recognized exemptions.

A customer claiming an exemption may be required to provide valid documentation before the order is finalized.

08

Resale Certificates

Customers purchasing eligible products for resale may be able to provide a valid resale certificate or other applicable exemption documentation.

Providing a resale certificate does not automatically guarantee that a transaction will qualify for exemption.

Documentation must be complete, valid and applicable to the transaction before tax-exempt treatment can be approved.

09

Submit Exemption Information Before Payment

Customers requesting tax-exempt treatment should contact Prime Freight Containers before completing payment whenever possible.

This allows time for the applicable documentation to be reviewed and the order total to be updated, where appropriate.

Tax Exemption Requests

Please do not independently remove tax from an order total. Contact us first if you believe your transaction qualifies for exemption.

10

Customer Responsibility for Documentation

Customers requesting a tax exemption are responsible for providing accurate, current and valid exemption information.

Prime Freight Containers may decline to remove applicable tax when sufficient documentation has not been provided or when the documentation does not apply to the transaction.

11

Changes to the Delivery Address

Changing the delivery destination before fulfillment may affect the applicable sales tax.

If you request a change to the delivery address, the order total may need to be reviewed or recalculated before shipment.

Do not send an additional payment or deduct an amount based on your own tax calculation unless the revised total has been confirmed.

12

Tax on Modified Containers & Additional Services

Some orders may include container modifications, accessories, installation-related services or other approved additions.

The tax treatment of such items may depend on the nature of the product or service and the requirements applicable to the transaction.

Any applicable tax should be reflected in the final order information provided before payment.

13

Tax Calculation Errors

If an incorrect tax amount is identified before payment, Prime Freight Containers may correct the order before payment is completed.

If a potential tax error is discovered after payment, the transaction may be reviewed and any appropriate correction handled according to the circumstances and applicable requirements.

Contact us promptly if you believe your order contains an incorrect tax calculation.

14

Sales Tax & Returns

Where an eligible product return results in an approved refund, the treatment of sales tax will generally correspond with the applicable refund and tax requirements for the transaction.

Prime Freight Containers currently provides a 30-day return period for eligible returns.

Approved refunds are processed within 14 days after the returned product has been received, inspected and approved.

15

Refunded Sales Tax

If sales tax was collected on a transaction and an eligible taxable amount is subsequently refunded, any applicable tax adjustment will be handled as part of the approved refund where appropriate.

Tax associated with amounts that are not refundable under the applicable transaction may be treated accordingly.

16

Taxes Not Collected at Checkout

In certain circumstances, Prime Freight Containers may not be required to collect a particular tax directly from the customer.

The absence of a tax charge on an order should not necessarily be interpreted as a representation regarding every tax obligation that may apply to a customer.

Customers should consult an appropriate tax professional or relevant taxing authority if they have questions about their own tax obligations.

17

Use Tax & Other Customer Tax Obligations

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, a customer may have separate tax obligations even when a particular tax was not collected by Prime Freight Containers.

Prime Freight Containers cannot provide individual tax advice regarding a customer's specific circumstances.

18

Tax Documentation & Order Records

Prime Freight Containers may retain transaction records, invoices, exemption documentation and other tax-related records where reasonably necessary for accounting, business and applicable record-keeping purposes.

Customers should also retain their order confirmation, invoice and payment information for their own records.

19

Tax Amounts May Change

Applicable tax rules and rates may change over time.

A tax amount associated with a previous order, quotation or transaction should not necessarily be assumed to apply to a future purchase.

The applicable order information available at the time of the transaction should be used when determining the amount due.

20

No Individual Tax Advice

Information contained in this Sales Tax Policy is intended to explain Prime Freight Containers' general sales-tax practices.

It is not intended as legal, accounting or individual tax advice.

Customers with questions regarding their own tax obligations, exemption status or reporting responsibilities should consult an appropriate tax professional or relevant tax authority.
